Favourite producer of 2012: Disclosure

Disclosure

Disclosure’s productions have featured heavily in my 2012 playlist. They were brought to my attention when they supported SBTRKT at The Ritz in February but production wise,  Jessie Ware’s ‘Running’  had everyone listening, chin strokers, scenesters and Radio 1 listeners included.

Since then, the duo have successfully followed it up with ‘Latch’ featuring Sam Smith, The Face EP among others. Their remix of Artful Dodger’s ‘Please Don’t Turn Me On’ featuring Lifford is their most recent release but it also holds a lot of memories for me.

It was originally released in 2000 when I was 16 years old, wearing strappy gold and black mini dresses made of polyester and going out in Oldham.  I was grateful that UK Garage showed me there was more to life than Yorkshire Street and American pop.

Here’s to another year of new discoveries.
