The interactive film screening I’d like to go to this weekend is…

ImageDrift Cinema is showing cult science fiction film The Man Who Fell To Earth, starring David Bowie, at Central Methodist Hall tonight.

There will also be DJ sets from Jon K (Hoya Hoya) and Kult Country plus a selection of short films, art and illustrations by local artists. I think this is the interactive part.

I’m attending on the initial basis I find David Bowie strangely attractive – the fact he’s cast as an alien in this 1976 film must have something to do with the strange part of my attraction – and I like Jon K’s sets.

However, The Man Who Fell To Earth has a cult following so there must be something more than a good looking lead to get into. One thing that’s obvious is there’s definitely a wealth of talent on display. Plus the Oldham Street venue that just so happens to be a church, £3 entrance and bring your own drinks policy make for a unique and wallet-friendly evening in an interesting setting.

01/03/2013, 7pm to 12pm (last entry 9.30pm) £3/£5 otd, BYOB, Central Methodist Hall, Central Buildings, Oldham Street, M1 1JQ,
