I’ll always remember an office conversation I had with a colleague on the day after I saw Alicia Keys perform at Manchester Arena in 2008. I would’ve liked to see an unplugged version and we came to the conclusion that, in a place where atmosphere can be lacking, the raw talent and musicality Keys possesses just didn’t seem at home in the Arena.
So her upcoming headline performance for ‘MTV Crashes Manchester’ at Manchester Cathedral is good news for those like me, who’d like to appreciate the global singer/songwriter’s music in much more intimate surroundings. She’ll be previewing her new album ‘Girl On Fire’, released on 26th November.
